Tim Estheimer
President – Treasurer, City of Allen Park
My name is Tim Estheimer,
I first stepped into politics when I volunteered my time to serve on the Allen Park DDA, that rewarding experience allowed me to serve 8 years, under 3 Mayors and Serve as Chairman twice.
I then was elected to the Southgate Board of Education (I live on the South end of AP where Southgate is our school district) where I served as Secretary, Vice President and 2 Terms as President. I served from 2016-2022.
I then bounced back to Allen Park for public service where I served as Chairman of the Planning & Zoning Commission and as Chairman of the Local Officers Compensation Board. It was just as I was asked to serve on that last commission that I decided, (by the urging of neighbors, family and residents ) to seek public office in Allen Park; therefore I abstained from voting for City Council salaries.

I ran for City Council of Allen Park in 2023 to help maintain the vibrant community that we have here. I won that election and earned the highest amount of votes, and therefore was named Mayor-Pro Tem. What an absolute honor and I was so proud of this accomplishment and so thankful to the voters.
Late December, our City Treasurer resigned office, leaving an opening. I originally planned on running for this office as I am fiscally responsible and that shows through my years of service and experience mentioned above. In my job as owner of Primo’s, the oldest pizzeria restaurant in the city, we have more than tripled our business since purchasing 15 years ago. We are known for giving back to the community and offering friendly service to our neighbors.
I decided to submit a letter of interest and at the January 16th City Council meeting, I was appointed Treasurer.
Since that day, I’ve been involved in MMTA and am in year 2 of basic. I attended Winter Workshops and Fall Conference as well as online Treasurer to Treasurer meetings. I am the first Treasurer in Allen Parks history to be a member of the APT US&C and since joining, I earned my CPFIM and attended the Annual Conference and In my first year with the WCTA, I was elected Vice President. I’m so honored to be a part of this group and so far in this role as your VP, I’m proud of what I’ve been working on for the benefit of our members and potential members such as the very first website for WCTA as well as a Facebook page. It’s my hope that through these tools, we keep members updated and aware and create a spot for potential new members to peek in and see what we are all about, with the option to join online and other benefits. I look forward to growing with this organization and am so proud to be a part of it.
